NEW ‘FORD PRO’ VEHICLE SERVICES AND DISTRIBUTION BUSINESS REDEFINING TRANSPORTATION VALUE FOR COMMERCIAL CUSTOMERS

  • Separate within Ford and unique among automakers, Ford Pro will deliver new levels of productivity for business and government customers via work-ready products and services
  • Will leverage technology from the ground to the cloud to help improve uptime, total cost of ownership and performance of fleets with electrified or combustion vehicles
  • To be led by Ford Pro CEO Ted Cannis, who’s headed Ford’s North America commercial business and earlier was leader of Ford’s Team Edison electric-vehicle development group
DEARBORN, Mich., May 26, 2021 – Ford, which already helps commercial customers “own work” with the world’s most popular pickup trucks and vans, now plans to redefine success for those customers with Ford Pro – a global vehicle services and distribution business that will increase uptime and reduce ownership costs, leading to higher productivity and performance.

The new business – separate within Ford and the first of its kind among automakers – is a major outcome of the Ford+ plan for growth and value creation, which is based on building enduring, always-on customer relationships.

“Ford Pro will redefine the market for commercial vehicles and services, where Ford is already the leader around the world,” said Ford CEO Jim Farley.  “We’re creating a one-stop shop to help those customers increase uptime and productivity while reducing complexity and the total cost of ownership.”

A foundational strength of Ford Pro is the industry’s most comprehensive and flexible range of F-Series and Ranger trucks, as well as Transit, the world’s best-selling cargo van – and seamless upfitting of all of them.  Soon, Ford will start making high-volume electric vehicles, including the E-Transit later this year and the F-150 Lightning Pro in mid-2022, which Ford Pro will pair with commercially focused charging solutions.

In addition to expected benefits for customers, Ford Pro’s ambitions for itself are significant.  The company anticipates its growing capabilities and appeal to generate $45 billion in revenue from hardware and adjacent and new services by 2025 – up from $27 billion in 2019.  In North America, Ford’s share of Class 1 through Class 7 full-size trucks and vans today exceeds 40%.  In Europe, Ford has been the leading commercial vehicle brand for six consecutive years.

Farley said Ford Pro will be led by Ted Cannis as CEO.  Cannis will collaborate with Hans Schep, general manager  of Commercial Vehicles for Ford of Europe, and other regional leaders.  Cannis currently heads Ford’s North America CV business and previously was leader of the Team Edison electric-vehicle development group.

Redefining, Unlocking Commercial Customer Value

Ford Pro, which will implement new services in phases, is aimed squarely at helping commercial customers work better, with productive, durable and smart vehicles and connected services.

Ford today has trusted relationships with nearly 125,000 commercial and government fleet customers in North America and thousands more in Europe and elsewhere.  Ford Pro is designed to even more rapidly and cost-effectively anticipate and address their needs and those of new customers.

“We’re going to give commercial customers even more reasons to choose and rely on Ford,” said Cannis.  “Our team understands that when customers win, we win, so we’re completely focused on unlocking tremendous value for them.”

Ford Pro will integrate, digitize and simplify transportation with capabilities spanning:
  • Ford Pro Vehicles – including Ford’s broad lineup of combustion-engine and hybrid commercial vehicles and, soon, all-electric versions of the company’s industry-leading vans and full-size pickup trucks developed for commercial use
  • Ford Pro Charging – hardware and software solutions for public, depot and overnight home charging of EVs so they’re ready to work again the next day
  • ·Ford Pro Intelligence – digital services, with distinct features integrated in their vehicles that enable customers to better manage and maintain their fleetsFord Pro Services Elite – expanding Ford’s strong network of CV centers by adding 120 dedicated, large-bay service hubs across the United States with extended hours and rapid turnaround, plus introducing 1,200 mobile service vehicles by 2025 to meet customers where they are, save them money and get them back in business, and
  • Ford Pro FinSimple – bundled financing for vehicles, services and EV charging.
Some elements of Ford Pro commercial services have already been introduced and are now being expanded in Europe, among them the recently launched Ford Fleet Management and Ford Pro Liive.  The latter is a connected uptime system expected to reduce downtime of customer fleets by up to 60%.  Such enhanced services are generating higher levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty, and growth for Ford.

Ford Pro will initially launch in North America and Europe.  More information can be found at fordpro.com.

Van Equipment to Increase your Time Savings at Work

Best Van Equipment for Time Savings at Work

Time savings is a large part of a successful business. Keeping on track and on time is key to increasing your sales and overall gross profit. On a daily basis, there are simple things that can help you and your employees stay on track. Creating prioritized task lists for example, helps give perspective on what needs to be accomplished during the course of a day.

However, it’s also important to ensure you have the correct tools for time savings. Whether you’re a fleet owner or a sole proprietor with one van, it’s important to ensure the van equipment you have is going to help you save a couple extra minutes of your day.  Below is a list of van equipment designed for company time savings:

Rear Access Partition
Increase time savings by accessing your cargo space directly from your cab, with a walk-through partition. These partitions still offer you the safety you need while on the road, but also eliminates the need for you to exit your vehicle to access your cargo.

Drop-Down Ladder Rack
Load and unload your ladder in under a minute with our Max Rack. With a single stage drop, the Max Rack lowers your ladder down to eye level, eliminating the struggle of trying to load and unload your ladder from the top of a high roof, multiple times a day. It’s an incredible time savings option and also a much safer option for your employees.

Fold-Away Shelving
Are you looking for van equipment for delivery? If so, fold-away shelving is the quickest and most efficient way to deliver cargo of any volume. The flexible shelves can be folded up or down in multiple configurations to accommodate whatever size packages you may be carrying.

Partskeepers
Keep your small parts organized and reduce the time spent searching for them. Partskeepers allow for small tools to be stored neatly in an easily accessible spot, with divided compartments to keep each piece separate. The partskeeper cases can also be brought directly onto the jobsite to eliminate trips back and forth to the van and increase time savings.

LED Lighting
Don’t waste time searching through your dark cargo van for the tools you need – light up your cargo area with LED light strips. These small, inexpensive pieces of van equipment are actually a surprising time saver, especially in winter when the days get darker a lot faster.

These are just some of the van equipment products that were designed to keep you organized and help save time on this job. Like we mentioned before, time savings is key to increasing profit. FORD, HEALTH IN THE HOOD, WORLD CENTRAL KITCHEN MOBILIZE TO DELIVER 5K MEALS TO MIAMI FAMILIES

  • Ford and its philanthropic arm Ford Fund, in collaboration with Health in the Hood and World Central Kitchen launch an eight-week program to deliver 5,000 fresh meals to families in the Miami-Dade County to provide additional access to healthy foods
  • To kick-off the program, Ford is contributing $25,000 to the nonprofit Health in the Hood and Ford and Spin employees in Miami-Dade will volunteer in a day of service at the nonprofit
  • This collaboration offers a unique opportunity for Ford and Ford Fund to continue strengthening communities, like Miami-Dade, and provide additional access to healthy foods

Miami MAY 7, 2021 – As part of Ford’s commitment to strengthen local communities, the company is joining forces with Health in the Hood and World Central Kitchen to deliver 5,000 fresh, healthy, pre-prepared meals to families in Miami-Dade County. The mobilized delivery service will run for eight weeks and complement Health in the Hood’s existing distribution program, with Ford delivering meals via Ford Transit Connect vans to over 60 families weekly who are living in food deserts.

“Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen an increase in food insecurity in Miami due to job loss,” said Asha Walker, Founder and CEO, Health in the Hood. “By teaming up with corporate community partners like Ford, we are able to mobilize our food pantry and provide additional access to families who might have otherwise not have been able to receive the meals.”

Administered by Ford Fund – the automaker’s philanthropic arm – Ford is contributing $25,000 to kick off the effort led by Health in the Hood, a nonprofit whose mission is to fight food insecurity. World Central Kitchen, a nonprofit organization that uses the power of food to nourish communities and strengthen economies in times of crisis and beyond, is providing the pre-prepared, fresh meals in addition to their ongoing Miami efforts. Ford’s mobility team is also providing support via its Transportation-as-a-Service (TaaS) software platform to help manage the delivery vehicles and notify recipients when their food is on the way.

The Ford Volunteer Corps will set the stage for meal delivery with a day of service at Health in the Hood.  As part of the day of service, local employees across Ford’s  mobility business and Ford’s micromobility unit Spin, will help harvest and plant vegetables at its urban gardens. Spin is operating a fleet of dockless scooters in the City of Miami and City of Coral Gables and Ford, in partnership with Argo AI, is currently building an autonomous vehicle service in Miami Dade.

“This program builds on Ford and Ford Fund’s long-term commitment to the Miami community,” said Joe Avila, manager, U.S. & Latin America, Ford Motor Company Fund. “Using our collective resources and expertise, we are able to provide a much-needed service for local families, who now have access to quality meals provided by Health in the Hood and World Central Kitchen.”

Ford Fund and local Ford dealers have invested more than $8 million in Miami-Dade County and the Miami area to boost education, provide disaster relief and advance social entrepreneurship. More recently, 1 million masks were donated to local nonprofits, first responders and the public as part of Ford and Ford Fund’s effort to donate 120 million masks to communities across the U.S.

FORD OPENS E-TRANSIT REGISTRATION SITE, RELEASES NEW TARGETED MSRP AS TOP FLEET CUSTOMERS LINE UP FOR ALL-ELECTRIC VAN

E-Transit is backed by 645 Ford Commercial Vehicle Center dealers across the U.S. – about 90 percent of which are electric vehicle-certified – for easy sales and service.

Interest is growing in the all-new, all-electric Ford E-Transit, with more than 450 commercial customers spanning 45 vocations already raising their hands to share purchase intentions

E-Transit registration site opens today for commercial customers, with new pricing for all configurations at a targeted starting MSRP of $43,295 – up to $52,690; visit Fleet.Ford.com for full pricing and range options across eight versatile configurations

Early-production E-Transit vans to be tested in challenging real-world conditions by select fleet customers in telecommunications, delivery, utility services and more this summer; order banks will be open by July

DEARBORN, Mich., May 4, 2021 – With customer interest growing in the all-new E-Transit, Ford today opens its website for hand-raisers to register their interest in learning more about the company’s first-ever full-size all-electric van ahead of order banks opening by July.

Along with the registration site, E-Transit has updated pricing, with a targeted starting MSRP of $43,295 for the cutaway – lower than originally announced – to $52,690 for the high-roof extended-wheelbase cargo van.

To date, more than 450 commercial customers in North America, including 200 top fleets and fleet management companies, have said they’re interested in purchasing the all-new E-Transit.

E-Transit is an electrified version of Ford Transit, America’s best-selling commercial van1. It will be built alongside the Transit at Ford’s Kansas City Assembly Plant in Claycomo, Missouri. With the zero-emission E-Transit, Ford is helping businesses achieve their sustainability goals and lower costs of ownership, while providing a familiar vehicle layout, driver experience, connectivity and dealer support.

Demand for all-electric vans is growing. Ford data shows that in the U.S., 70 percent of the full-size bus and van business is going all-electric by 2030 – that represents more than 300,000 vehicles annually. As America’s best-selling commercial van brand for 42 years2, Ford intends to maintain this strong share of market into a new era of electrification.

Versatility makes E-Transit a likely choice for commercial customers, as the vehicle offers eight configurations, including cargo van with three roof heights and three lengths, plus chassis cab and cutaway models, lending itself to a wide array of applications. Preliminary conversations with commercial customers indicate a healthy mix for demand across all eight configurations, with roughly 40 percent leaning toward high-roof vans and 60 percent pointing to medium-roof, low-roof, cutaway and chassis cab versions.

“We’ve had so much interest early on, we wanted to open this registration site to serve customers with a build mix for their needs across all van body styles,” says Ted Cannis, general manager, North American commercial business. “Some customers want high-roof vans to maximize internal cargo space, while others need to install bodies on cutaways and chassis cabs. Customers will have an all-electric solution – from box truck delivery to parking structure-friendly utility service vans and everything in between.”

Internal data shows early order indicators favor the delivery segment – ranging from wholesale goods to packages, groceries to replacement parts – with many other vocations in the hand-raisers group looking to take advantage of E-Transit versatility. These include equipment rental; local, state and federal government agencies; utility services; and telecommunications. Customers have shared plans to use E-Transit for recreational vehicles, school buses, automotive service, carpet cleaning, service vans and other commercial applications. More unusual applications offered include armored transport, blood donation units and prisoner transport.

Customers can sign up at the new E-Transit registration site on Fleet.Ford.com to review the targeted starting MSRP and targeted driving range for all configurations for E-Transit cargo van3. Customers can also indicate their desired versions and receive the latest news on E-Transit, including notification when order banks open. No deposit or purchase commitment is required.

“Customers should be thrilled to see that the starting price is well under what we announced at the E-Transit reveal in November,” says Cannis. “We want to make these products accessible and turnkey because, as the trusted leader we are today, we know customers need electric products that fit their business – not the other way around. And E-Transit can further help save on operating costs compared to gas-only vans.”

A smart workhorse for U.S. cities, the zero-emission E-Transit was designed with insight from 30 million miles of customer telematics data showing that the average commercial van drives 74 miles per day. With a usable battery capacity of 67 kilowatt-hours4, the low-roof E-Transit cargo van has a targeted driving range of 126 miles3.

Available Pro Power Onboard turns E-Transit into a mobile generator with up to 2.4 kilowatts of available power to help customers use and recharge job site tools ranging from belt sanders to miter saws. When paired with an activated standard embedded modem, standard SYNC® 4 brings connected solutions that unlock software subscriptions to help fleets manage charging transactions, telematics services and more.

E-Transit offers the same cargo dimensions and standard mounting points as the gas-powered van so fleets can continue to use the same upfits, racks, bins and accessories they have now, while taking advantage of the improvements in uptime and productivity provided by the fully electric powertrain, new software solutions and Pro Power Onboard options.

Potential savings are expected from day one, as scheduled maintenance costs over eight years/100,000 miles are projected to be 40 percent less than for the gas-powered Transit based on recommended service schedules published in 2019 and 2020 owner’s manuals. E-Transit is backed by 645 Ford Commercial Vehicle Center dealers across the U.S. – about 90 percent of which are electric vehicle-certified – for easy sales and service.

Expect to see early production E-Transit vans on job sites and in communities across North America this summer as Ford rolls out a pilot program in which key customers test the electric van across a variety of vocational use cases. More information about the pilot will be available at a later date.

E-Transit, the first all-electric cargo van from a full-line automaker in North America, is part of Ford’s more than $22 billion investment in electrification through 2025. The all-new, all-electric Mustang Mach-E is on sale now, E-Transit is available later this year, and the all-electric F-150 hits dealerships in 2022.

Customers can register for E-Transit by visiting fleet.ford.com.
